Press conference was held in occasion of Dr. Tony Bates coming to Croatia as an expert on the Tempus project EQIBELT (Education Quality Improvement by E-Learning Technology) and giving lecture to Croatian academic community on subject on E-Learning Vision and Strategy in Higher Education and participating in the first project workshop. Lecture was held at the University Computing Centre on March 2, 2006 and by videoconference at the University of Dubrovnik, University of Rijeka (locations in Rijeka and Pula) and University of Split.

Participants on the press conference were Dr. Tony Bates, well known expert in the field of e-learning and the expert on this Tempus project, Mr. Zoran Bekić, director of the University Computing Centre and the coordinator of the EQIBELT project and Prof. Aleksa Bjeliš, vicerector for science and research at the University of Zagreb.
